Why DCH Wealth Management?

DCH Wealth Management strives to give clients peace of mind through a holistic approach to managing their financial goals. Our responsibility is to use their specific background to design a plan that is created to track and monitor progress. We emphasize cash flow analysis, liability management, and exploring short-term and long-term goals including starting a business, purchasing a home, family vacations, college planning, retirement income analysis and estate planning.

The basis of our planning centers around asset allocation with a focus on risk management. Through regular reviews of a client’s portfolio, we ensure we are on track to reach their goals in the most prudent way possible.

At DCH Wealth Management, we pride ourselves on the ability to offer truly independent advice free of the conflicts typically found at traditional brokerage firms. This allows us to view our client’s financial lives in a complete and effective process. Without the obligation of selling for the firm or reaching annual sales goals, we can focus on client interests and build a rewarding advisory practice.

Alex Cross is a founder of DCH Wealth Management with over 15 years of experience in  financial services. Alex develops a roadmap for clients to achieve their goals by balancing the risk and reward. When working with clients, he emphasizes the need for flexibility when life gets in the way of a perfectly laid out plan.

Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Belmont Abbey College. After a few years working for a large bank, Alex joined the U.S. Army. While serving, he learned the value of having a plan and being flexible.

Upon completing his service in the military, Alex began his career in financial services at a regional bank. While he enjoyed helping clients, he was frustrated by being unable to give clients a holistic planning approach. This led him to join Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor.

After deciding to focus on providing clients with independent financial advice, Alex joined an independent advisory firm as a registered investment advisor. He continues to work toward his goal of offering clients independent advice.

Alex lives in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, with his wife and their two children, a dog and two cats. In his free time, he enjoys cooking for his family and friends.

Retirement income & generational wealth planning — in plain English.

My job is simple to describe and hard to do well: make sure you don't run out of money in retirement, and make sure the people you love are taken care of after you're gone.

Most planners will hand you a number — "you have an 82% chance of success" — and call it a day. I don't work that way. We've all been trained since grade school to treat a percentage like a test score, and it pushes good, hardworking people to chase 90% or 95% when what they should be doing is asking a bigger question: what does that number actually mean for my life?

So instead of a score, I build you a roadmap — one that tells you exactly what you can spend, what would trigger a change, and what happens to your plan if the Great Depression, the 1970s, or 2008 showed up again tomorrow.

Here's where most people start:

1. Do you know — actually know — how much you'll need to retire comfortably, and stay comfortable for the next 30 years?

2. Do you know exactly what would happen to your family financially if you didn't wake up tomorrow?

If you're not sure, you're in good company. Almost nobody is. But "almost nobody" isn't a great place to build a retirement on.

Here's what I offer:

A 30-minute conversation where we put real numbers to those two questions. No cost. No obligation.

Already have a plan? I'm also glad to give you an objective second opinion on whether the path you're on is actually the right one.
